LeBrons Return To Cleveland

Posted: December 7, 2010 in ISC Connections

On December 2nd LeBron James returned to the city that drafted him and where he dominated for seven years. This is after he moved to South Beach to play for the Miami Heat along side Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosch. People in Cleveland assumed LeBron sold out their city and went to a place where he could get more money, not win a championship. I believe these people need to understand that LeBron has a much higher chance of winning a championship with the Miami Heat. LeBrons return to Cleveland was much anticipated and security was raised for this occasion. All hateful signs, t-shirts, and apparel was banned from the stadium and people would be removed if they got out of hand. 7.1 million viewers tuned into the Miami Heat routing the Cavaliers by 18 points. This proved that Cleveland truly needs LeBron due to their sub .500 record. Miami is rolling over teams this year and if they keep it up they can make a true run for the title.

Although LeBron’s image was tainted with due to his decision to leave, he still is one of the best players in the NBA and will continue to be for many years to come and this will allowed him to be loved by people all over the world, even if he did leave the city that was known because of him. Another example of a NBA star changing cities is Michael Jordan. He left Chicago and played in Washington D.C. This did not change his elite status or how many people loved him, people need to move on to bigger and better things and I think he deserves the right along with everyone else.
